Hmmm. Perhaps I'm wrong, but Artur is quite a bit more advanced than most folders here. He has reliably reproduced many complex models by "eyeballing" them.

At the end of the day, it's all math, and some people can "see" the math better than others.

On the bright side, you can reduce your paper size by about 25%! That wrong CP could still be foldable, it would just take some thinking and some crumpling in parts that you hope don't end up on the outside. Or you could always modify 2.1 yourself to give it scales on the legs.

Definitely; I folded my Ryu Jin 2.1 out of 3 feet tissue foil, and it was pretty easy to shape

Ummmm, you make the creases on the paper... For using tissue foil, I recommend drawing the creases lightly rather than creasing them, as they can be erased by further creasing in the area. Then, collapse the bottom (except the scales), and then do the top. After that, do the scales on the bottom.

This is probably a stupid question, but...
As some of you know I'm attempting Ryu-jin from a 50cm square of single MC tissue. Everything is going really well so far, but I have a scale question. Rather than shaping them, I am thinking of brushing a little MC over the finished scale pattern just to keep them from unfolding. Do you guys think this is a good idea?

Well, since the scales are only 3mm wide in your case, you may as well just MC over them. I don't think its worth it to kill yourself over shaping the scales.

Hi! It's been a long while since I've been active on here. I deleted my Dropbox years ago, so some things, like my Dragonfly Varileg guide, are lost to time. I may still have other things, though! Email me if you have any questions.

Same. As mentioned, don't worry about it - It isn't worth it. Just brush some MC over it and let it be :)

Thats what I was thinking too, especially now that I have some scales done, I can see they would be impossible to shape. I should be finished with it in a few days!
