I'm thinking about trying this one, what size of paper did you use for the body and legs? It looks like it says on the first page of the diagram, but I can't read the numbers, and since I can't read Vietnamese, I don't even know if those are the right numbers.

The paper size should be rectangle 1x7 (you can confirm this by looking at the 1st page of the diagram. It shows 6 squares in the middle, and 1 square divided and put at the top and bottom of the rectangle.
I think you can read the size of the paper by zooming on the first line of the first page.
I don't read Vietnamese too but i think that's the size (in centimetres)

As for me, I used 1x5... that's why mine is so short, plus I made the body pleats too big. And for the legs, I don't know the exact size. But I used 4 squares with the size 3/4 of the squares in the body.

Yeah, I wanted to create a page that provided good information for somebody starting out. And, it's a place that you can see some of the harder models, too. Anyway, do you have anything that you can add to it? Do you have any money origami models that you would like to showcase?

hehe. I must be insane. I'm trying t ofold a chuka ryu that will end up being about 9 feet long! / The paper is 3 feet by 21 feet. When (if) I finish it, I will post some pics of it.

I managed to fold the model. I found the CP for the Ryu-Zin (not Chuka Ryu) and located the head, and grafted it in the model by unfolding the head, and creasing, and the end looked great! It took me 6 hours to fold, and 5 days thinking how to graft the head in without tearing the paper.

From my reckoning the paper is in proportion to 5 A sheets stacked end to end - originally it is 5 A4 sheets (on the diagram) but 32nds at that scale are really painful to fold - I scaled up a little to near A3 proportions and still individual scales were 8mm or so. I found I could turn 3 rows of scales (and ended up shaping them like Ryu Jin for effect) - The leg attachment is less clear but you can work them into the belly pleats before tucking the belly inside and the join is positive and strong. Teasing the head is also a challenge as the diagrams seem to make little sense

Is if just me or do the creases indicated ------- and -.-.-.-.- on this diagram stand for the exact opposite to normal convention - I found myself reversing to make sense of some of the steps - will post in the "what have you folded lately" thread when done
