Does ayone know a good place to get giant pieces of square paper? Doesn't have to be specifically origami paper. I just want reasonably thin and foldable paper thats HUUUUGE.
I've been having a craving to make lifesize models.
Giiiiant pieces of paper?

I would check out if there aren't any paper factories nearby. Just last night I saw a thing on discovery channel how they made glossy paper and the width of the roll was a whopping 8 meters (that's 26feet and 2 inches for the non-metric goons here
)!!! Yep that's a square of 8x8 meters you can get there. Of course the width varies from company to company. I know a factory nearby who makes paper and they sell stuff that is not usable for their customers (like starts and ends of rolls or with a tiny defect in them). Unfortunately it's for newspaper so it's not really good folding paper. Try to find a factory that makes non-gloss paper or paper for books, those are usable.
You might have to do a little persuasion to get the right person to talk to you (because in most cases your first contact is either a desk jockey or a security guy) but it might pay off. Explain why you want that paper and if there are clever guys over there they even might want to give you a (paid) assignment to fold something as publicity for their company. You never know.
