I think the commonality of those statements is rather dependent on whether or not you're from Scandinavia...

I'm sorry, I meant: You don't hear them much, but still too common, like all the other generalisations. I mean, we ARE in the 21th century and all...

The point being, I didn't mean to hurt anybody, or anything, just contribute to the thread.

But well, if anybody hear a whisper, from another person in Denmark, give a shout! I FEEL LEFT ALONE IN THE ORIGAMI SOCIEY!

I never met a Dane that was a racist... but then I never met a Dane :-)

Turid Rugaas is from Norway... but she trains dogs using Calming Signals... And when she trained me :-) ... I folded an Origami Dog for her, altho I don't remember which one.

It's not surprising you never met a Dane... There's only about 5,5 million of us on this planet! Not much, compared to many other countries.

(Oh by the way, we had an official white christmas in Denmark, meaning that atleast 90% was covered! Beat that! :D )

I am a black folder and I have yet to meet or communicate with other black folders.

Texas also had a white Christmas.... and about 6 million people who are used to 100+ (F) weather, slid all over the road. Talk about Hell freezing over!

We had it white before and after Christmas. For some reason every year the snow melts away in the week before Christmas and returns around new years eve. I'm eagerly awaiting spring, for my taste it's been already too much snow and temperatures below the freezing point. I want blooming flowers and trees with leaves!

Origami_8: I think many people here in Denmark can agree to that! We are only used to longer term snow around New Years Eve/Mid-january, but this year it started around the first of December! It has only dissappered a few days at the max till now!

Fortunately I'm one of those people, who, while I still love summer, like the snow. As long as it's not black (like the snow at roadside) and so, I'm fine :D

Canadians live in igloos and hunt wild moose with pointy wooden sticks!

On topic, as there's no origamist in mi city in like a hundred miles around, i've been trying to open a group in my school. Well, now I haven't designed nor folded anything interesting in a while, since all my origami time goes to teaching, but hey, luckily we'll be more origamists here soon. :D

it's for a good reason. Teaching enriches the world. In our modern times, we should care to keep art alive. Art in general, and Origami in particular. ;)
