anyone know a really quick way to trace this onto paper? it usually takes such a long time for me. the first time i did it, i didn't really understand the model, and then it began to rip, and it got so bad i couldn't do it. the second time, i understood it a lot more, but it ripped again even worse in the same spot (right where the ten boxes are in the middle). does anyone have a quicker way to trace it because im getting sick of it, and does anyone know how to fold the spot with the ten boxes?

you could cut your paper into whatever size you print on and just print directly onto it... I do that when I'm feeling lazy. Which is a lot.

Unless you have a drafting plotter designed for 17"x22", folding this model on a printed copy is not a good idea. It is based on a grid, so I wouldn't recommend redrawing the pattern at all, but if you really want to trace it, there isn't a fast way to do it if you want good results.
Out of curiosity: What kind of paper and what size are you using?

to tell you the truth, i don't really know what type of paper, but it's pretty much the same as printer paper, but thicker. For the size, i printed out a 6.5 inch copy of the crease pattern, and i have it 19.5 inches of paper so that i can just multiply each measurement by 3

19.5 is a good size to fold from. The paper sounds too thick for the model, and if it's similar to printer paper, you can expect it to rip easily and often. If you can make double tissue that would be ideal, but if not, maybe kraft or tracing paper would be worth a try.

Tracing paper is easiest to find, it comes in pads at pretty much any art supply store.
I always bought my Kraft from Terry's shop, but he stopped selling it. Someone else might know a place to get thin kraft though.
Double tissue you have to make with 2 sheets of tissue paper and methyl cellulose. Look at viewtopic.php?t=4578&highlight=methyl for more information on that. Double tissue is the best choice out of the three, but it can be tough to get depending on where you live.
