My first attempt at Dragon in Flight by Charles Esseltine, didn't go all that well might have been easier with a bigger piece of paper (or at least that is my theory).

@Releashi: Those middle steps where you thin the neck and tail with swivel folds are tricky at any size, don't feel bad!

I found the feet super horrid too

I was thinking of asking for #1 Origami For Interpretes or #3 Origami Essence by DIAZ Roman for my birthday but I'm worried I wont be able to do any of them. I got origami Bugs and Beasts by Manuel Sirgo Alverez and tried a couple I can't do any of them without the paper ripping because I try all sorts of rubbish to figure out the steps

Did just about manage the polar bear once.

Releashi, please make sure pictures you post to the Forum aren't wider than 640 pixels.

With Origami Essence you should be able to accomplish at least most of the models in there. Working your way up from the simplest to the more complex models you shouldn't have problems getting all successfully done.
Origami for Interpreters is the harder of the two books and has some more challenging projects. After completing all the models in Origami Essence you should have a good base to try them as well.
The Sirgo book is especially hard because on most models it only leads you to a base from where on a lot of shaping is needed.
Origami Essence is completely different. The folding sequences are very pleasing and hardly any shaping is needed.

Thanks for the book guide I think I'll ask for essence then they look lovely

I think I'll try that dragon again with bigger paper, maybe grease proof paper.

I'm not even managing the bases in most cases, there is a an unwrap in some I just don't get and tried the lobster but some of the sinks are nightmarish and my foil paper starts to rip.

Also, from what I've heard about Bugs and Beasts, you need super thin paper to get even a half decent result many of the models.
