How do you think with the peacock I've folded?
To make it always stay in shape, I spray it with Tamiya Semi-Gloss.

I didn't fold the advanced one, just the beginner's version... but mine stayed together without spraying.... The Steps 56-59 (I think) are supposed to lock everything in place, right ?

I used 80 gsm paper. First, I practice with 70gsm A4 copy paper.
The 56-59 step is very difficult. But now, I have made 3 peacocks. Is so... simple. Just make an unsymmetrical inside reverse fold.
When you have done it, you just make a good leg to make it stand.

you can also change the proportions of the tail, i.e. you can fold in quarters instead of thirds in step 1 to obtain a bigger tail

I'm not sure that I have the same Steps, because I am looking at the English version of Genuine Origami ISBN 978-4-88996-251-2 on p. 112.

Step 26 is a bisecting Valley fold (VF) from the left. [Repeat 21-25]
Step 27 consists of two VFs, which are unfolded.
Step 28 unfolds step 26
Step 29 Inside reverse-fold
Step 30 Inside reverse fold (the other way)

I have a question when folding the complex version.

At step 18 of the complex version it says to repeat steps 34-55 from the simple version.
However I wonder, at step 42 from the simple version, must I immediately do step 43 or should I repeat step 34-42 again?

Hm, I would like to help you, but I am unsure as to what you are asking. For Peacock 2, it's the same folding sequence as Peacock 1's. The only difference is that you are collapsing more to make more divisions, and the references for the extra divisions comes from the grid you've folded through the first few steps of Peacock 2.

Ok, if I were folding peacock1 I would now inside revervse fold the flaps and reverse the mountain and valley creases of the pleats to finish the tail.

But for peacock2, I will first repeat what I did in the picture above (exactly the same procedure) and then afterwards I will continue with the steps I just mentioned above to finish the tail like peacock1?
So it is the same folding procedure as peacock1 only repeated more times?

Wow this is difficult to put into words, if it doesn't make sense I will just fold what I think and take a picture and just hope that I am right

As you say, it's very difficult to describe, but I think what you need to do is this: carry on through steps 43-50. Once you have done that, you should have something that looks very similar to step 37, but with a couple of extra pleats inserted. Then you do steps 37 to 50 again, and then carry on through 51-55. That is how I remember it, but I've not done this model for ages so I hope it's right. If in doubt, try to compare what you are doing to the crease pattern shown.
