I'm looking for the book Hiden Senbazuru Orikata, the book that is generally considered to be the oldest origami book. It used to be available as a set of photos online, but I can't seem to find it. Also, I'm looking for this wood block print, but larger than this one from fishgoth's site:
And yes, I know there is a copy of it in Angelfish to Zen. Thanks for any help you can offer!
If you want the book as a keepsake, I suggest that you download and store now. I thought that I read a rumor that it had been removed because the "owner" was planning to republish a copy. I'm inferring that they had created a modern publication from the original, and were planning to republish it.
However, If you want the book for the content, there are two books that have some of the original material... with instructions:
Origami: Rokoan Style by Masako Sakai - Michie Sahara
There are "three" books, the Original, #2, and a more recent combination of both. ISBN: 0-89346-875-4 ISBN: 0-89346-932-7 (I don't have the combo, Sorry)
Crane Origami translated by Yoko Ishiguro ISBN: 978-4-88996-224-6
Flaregloom: Awesome work! It looks great as a vector. For my reference, could you post up the illustrator file? And great work finding the book...I looked and looked and looked...thanks so much!
i cant think of them now but a couple of place will make custom wood block prints... mostly internet sites, you have to like upload a picture of what you want and they will do it for you.
