As with many times in life, I find that with the average person, "how do you DO that?" is less of an invitation to teach them, and more of just an exclamation of amazement...since upon trying to explain or teach, the people kind of glaze over...

"how much does that cost"
"teach me"
"You realize it is very impolite to be folding in my class?"
"
"
"What are you fundraising for"
" where did you buy that"
or i get bad things such as
"quit goofing off"
" is that your ^&^% toy"
etc. i will not post

"Ohh thats cool $h*T, I was going to get in to that too but never did"
"Can you make any kind of animals... how about a lion?"
"Whats that one... I dont get it?"
"How Long have you been doing that?"
"Can I have it?"
And to reply on "Teach me!" Or "How do you do it"
I say, "Meet me here at this time and I will show you!" Or I give them a link to the diagrams on the net.

today is the tomorrow you dreamed about yesterday!
I like to think that giving my origami away might forgive any wrong doings I have made in life... its all about karma right?... But its nice to see people smile about it!

The other day, I folded Brian Chan's dragonfly, from the cp on his web site. Thinking it was really cool looking I took it to school, and there are some really stupid kids in High School, one of them was making paper airpanes (cutting and stapling the poor paper) and he turned to me and said, "That's a ool dragonfly, can it fly?" I of course said, "no," he had to continue. " If I can just staple it on the head of your bug I think it will fly." This went on for a while. Eventually I just stopped talking to him all together.
If you want to know where on Brian Chan's web site I found his dragonfly cp, scroll up to the top of his origami page and click on Other pages by Brian Chan. After that, follow the link that says, T-shirts and graphic design. You will then see a bunch of t-shirts with the crease patterns of many of his bugs, not yet released on his origami page. Just click on oe of them to enlarge.

Today, I brought my Satoshi book to school (there was nothing going on today an I knew I would get bored) along with 2 large home made t-f-t squares. Before my first class I started making the bahamut, and some kid asked me if I was making some sort of complicated flapping crane. Without a word, I flipped over to the picture index at the front of the book and pointed to the dragon. "That must be a lot of cutting and gluing."
"Nope, one square, no cutting, ripping, gluing, or taping." Is all I answered. The kid left, mumbling.
It sounded like he said, there's a place for liars.
In my chem class (because I finished the Bahamut) I started on the ancient dragon, the same kid from my post above walks up to me and says, "oh, cool dragon (associating with bahamut), what's his suppoded to be, a big red hat or a boat for your dragon?"
This time I turn to the cover of the book, "folders, they're so quiet." Is all he says while he walkes away. I think he's jealous of the skills that us folders have to follow instructions to make complicated designs.
