Wow! Gorgeous cats! By far some of the better origami cats I've ever seen!
...and that says a lot.

So many cats around the internet...
and almost none really capture the nature of cats.

"...Several species of the dung beetle, most notably the species Scarabaeus sacer (often referred to as the sacred scarab), enjoyed a sacred status among the ancient Egyptians.

The scarab was linked to Khepri, the god of the rising sun.
The scarab was of prime significance in the funerary cult of ancient Egypt...." (wikipedia)

not to be rude, but that is utter poppycock. kasahara was right back when; cats are hard to design because origami by nature is somewhat linear, but modern origami has made many advances.

van goubergen, hideo komatsu, giang dinh, roman diaz, dave brill, and hoang tien quyet have all designed gorgeous cats. do you disagree?

No, I do not disagree, even in the slightest, it's just that, compared to the sheer amount of cats I've seen, these top notch masterpieces of cats only account for a smaller percentage of the whole. (Though they're still, and will always be masterpieces, outshining the competition :) )

And I also agree on the fact that modern origami has made many advances. Better cats (and everything else I know of on the spot) DO appear, and fortunately, quite often. :D
