A nice idea. Moles, I feel, are sorely under represented in the origami world.
I'd like to see some cute moles appear - these things tend to come in cycles (insects, cheetahs etc) so maybe their time will come!
I very much like the star-nosed mole by Charles Wilson (http://www.origami-usa.org/node/911)
Surprised no-one has tried an anatomically correct one with the 22 mouth parts providing an irresistable lure for the realists out there.
Second try at Cicada Nymph, by Satoshi Kamiya. I used a thicker paper this time, which made the front legs really hard to form. I shaped the back end a bit different this time, and curved the front of the head down a bit more.
Kind of obsessed with cicadas lately...first fold through of the Periodical Cicada. I'm more fond of Lang's Shizuoka cicada, as the result is nicer, and the folding process a bit easier/more enjoyable. I spent a lot of time altering the back end (originally a ton of sinks) making it a bit more three dimensional...I guess I'm happy with the results.
That's a nice modular. I may start doing modulars soon because I got Kawasaki's book for my birthday and it has quite a lot about hexagonal modulars which I fine very nice. I'll be trying some modulars soon.
Fi-Ori, that's an absolutely wonderful colour combination. I had a look at the diagrams already, but I didn't think it could look so nicely. I think I'm going to grab some similarly coloured sheets and fold Brill's sphere as well.
