Folding a Moa.

Post by The_Mess »

After mulling over it yesterday, I finally cracked it late at night and used a plain bird base, and squashed two of the flaps to created the legs, thinned them and neck and then pulled out the remaining flap to form the back end. And then I sunk the top in to shape the body, along with folding the legs so they're closer to a life-like position.

Not bad for my first ever creation, though given the length of the neck it's more of a small bush moa than a giant moa :P

That and there's a missing knee joint that I can't add to this one without it becoming way too unstable and collapsing, so I'm trying to figure out a base that will pull off the long, trunk-like neck and still provide enough paper for the body, leg stance and toes. But that's what playing around with TreeMaker and various bits of paper is for :D
