@SAJ
I make my own tissue foil, and it's really easy as I see it, compared to other techniques. I used to use spray glue on the foil, then carefully place the tissue. But recently, I started to use just watered down white school glue, and it holds very well! I'm in the process (for several weeks now) of using a giant square of said material for an Ancient Dragon, but I haven't worked on it in a while, and the paper is still held quite fast to the foil.

@Draco paper cutter is the easiest way, or what i do mostly is just fold the corner of the roll to line it up with the edge and then cut it along the other edge, and you have a square.

I have some wooden square templates that I let cut at a building centre. Using those I mark the square on the paper with some pencil marks. Then I use a self healing cutting mat, a steel ruler and either a very sharp knife or rotary cutter to cut the paper square. The rotary cutter has the advantage to roll over the paper not crinkling it when it gets a bit more dull, but it is more expensive as well.
Other possible square templates are for example quilters square-rulers or steel templates.

so you use scissors not the edges on the box?Ragnorax wrote:@Draco paper cutter is the easiest way, or what i do mostly is just fold the corner of the roll to line it up with the edge and then cut it along the other edge, and you have a square.

I wouldnt recommend it, its going to be kinda small, and i have a feeling that the tail will be too bulky and rip at the first few braids.
But you could try to fold it with that.

I don't know of many people who wetfold their(simple, heavily shaped) models using heavy art paper. Instead they fold their models from tissue foil, which I consider sacrilege and laziness. Why don't more people wet fold? I, myself, find it very enjoyable..
