there are tons of different methods posted on this forum for making tissue foil-a little searching is all it takes. Also, I and many others have used spray adhesive in the past. If the tissue paper is tearing, you are probably doing it wrong (i.e. moving the tissue paper around after it is glued down, being way too rough when smoothing out wrinkles, etc.).

I need help!! I have no proper paper for this dragon. I've tried numerous methods for making tissue foil, but it always comes out thick! So i have one question.... Can't I just make it out of one sheet of tissue paper? has anyone done that? is it do-able??

Don't be scared of the paper. Make the paper scared of you!

do you have kami? one approach is to tape together 4 squares of kami. this takes all of 5 minutes. the result is not something you could present at a convention, but it is probably the easiest way of learning the general gestalt of the model.

there are a couple other alternatives. you could try wrapping paper, but that is a very broad suggestion. the main problem i found when using that medium is, if you cut an especially large square, the model tends to flop around quite a bit and this can get frustrating. some folders have had great results with kraft paper, but like wrapping paper, "kraft" is a very heterogeneous product. 2 years ago i bought a whole bunch of 25" foil at the OUSA convention, and this is what i first folded an ancient dragon from. even with this, the final product was very thick.

as i've said before, this model is not that hard. the hardest part is finding a piece of paper large enough, strong enough, and thin enough for it. which actually can be quite a chore, depending. it's part of why, me personally, i have a little disdain for super duper complex origami that requires large sheets of 0 gsm paper.

I'm gonna try with single tissue+MC, I'll let you know whet happens.

If it will be a fail I'll try with double tissue

You are pulling the layer apart so that you can collapse it the same way you did in step 52.

Maybe these pictures will help.

pull out the paper that is pleated...

then recollapse

@pop pop

you squash the corner in the middle. If you cannot, then you probably did not open sink the flap in step 40
