Ok so I'm thinking about getting this book :All about origami. Sculptures from a paper by:
Victoria Serova & Vladimir Serov

BUT I haven't seen many people on the forum post any models by these authors... and I was wondering if anyone has made any of the harder models in this book and if soo could you possibly post them??? (especially the bugs in this book, they look awesome, but are they replicable??)

OR has anyone else made this model??? This would be the main model to fold if I got the book, but from looking at their work they love to do complex collapsing!! and I suck with collapsing!

It doesn't look too difficult- look on the bright side- they've chosen a collapse over a-lang-half-closed-wraparound-unsink-thingumajig. Surely the collapse is nicer :-s

Stephan Webers' Bull. Not brilliant, but the first thing I've folded in weeks really. Doing it again with thinner paper, this one is wet folded from elephant hide.

If you weren't already aware, Victoria regularly posts on this forum, and has her own, excellent, gallery.

Her creations, especially of late, are at the top level of complexity. If you're not a highly experienced or skilled folder then the book might just frustrate, especially for those supra-complex insects you're looking at.

However, I can say that I folded a model of hers from diagrams that appeared in a BOS magazine a few years ago: the tit.

The diagrams were very clear and exact (though a colour changed side was not indicated, this did not matter). I've since successfully folded the snowflake and reindeer and the diagrams were of similarly high quality - despite not reading any Russian, I completed both without trouble.

Hope that is at least some help

it's also worth noting that most of the super complex insects from that book are provided as CP only. she goes over how to collapse CP, but you're SOL, so to speak, if you can't read russian.

i also want to point out, that if you go to her gallery, that most of her super complex models are made from papers she has prepared herself. so unless you're ready to do lots of tissue foil, mc resizing, or double tissue mc, then you're going to have an even harder time with her insects (as most standard papers won't be thin enough or strong enough).

most of the mammals/birds from the book don't appear to be as demanding on the paper.

Whilst waiting for the metro and playing with the ticket, I came up with a module. Here is the result. I don't know if this is invented before, so please let me know.
