White mulberry and unruyu paper seems to be a lot cheaper than the more
exotic looking stuff. What's type of dye would be best to color it? Also is MC'd unruyu good for folding on it's own or should it only be used for backing? What about double unruyu ala double tissue?

Re: Dying unruyu or mulberry paper
Don't know if it's best, but I've dabbled with changing the colour of unryu by mixing acrylic with MC to size it and it works well enough for me (see e.g. my Mabona tiger) - you do have to experiment a bit to find what proportions of colour work well for you. In my case it's been more of a change of shade than a big colour change, such as from white to dark blue, but I suppose you could get that to work too.ccortner wrote:White mulberry and unruyu paper seems to be a lot cheaper than the more

It's even easier to do this with double unryu I'd say, since handling the wet sheet to put it to dry is not as fiddly. I always hang my paper on a cardboard tube to let it dry, that way you don't get any shine on the paper's surface - iron when dry and voilà !.
