Just got my tant and 'Nicolas Terry' Tissue foil.
The former is a nice paper, brilliant colours, easy to fold, its really wonderful.
I know about the pressure points thingy and the paper can get abit thick sometimes ( i folded quentin's rhino, the head got tad thick).
The special tissue foil is great though! A great thickness and foldability for complex designs!

I don't think your supposed to double post
but is the foil better than homemade? I'm pretty tired of making hundreds of sheets of tissue foil, but I have to because its my favorite material

Re: What Paper have you bought/recieved lately?
Got 84 sq feet of hanji! My mom bought it for me in many colors in Korea, and brought it back to the US. It wasn't the only reason she went there, if you were wondering. I got a few flat solid colors, but most of it was the very thin solid color one with visible fibers (the unpatterned is quite thin as well) that has very beautiful fiber patterns like unryu. Its so nice! Will post them soon but I folded Nicholas Terry's Goblin and Robert Lang's Tarantula from a bicarbonate of thinner hanji spray glued to foil, green and brown respectively, and Roman Diaz's Singing Cardinal from a black sheet of thinner hanji mc'd to the same type of red hanji. I folded Hideo Komatsu's Wolf from a thicker sheet. The paper is amazing! Slightly stronger than unryu, coming in beautiful colors, and pretty cheap in bulk (about a $1.20 for 6 square feet). It has a great pattern, and is very thin. PH balanced, strong, and cheap, this is one great paper. Yes, you do have to MC the very thin one if you want to use it to it's full potential, but its still pretty great. Sorry for advertising, but its true
PS: Jonybb, the obvious, fold! First, if you want recommendations, first tell us the colors you have. Second, treat it by gluing it to foil or stiffening it, or something else, cut it into a square or whatever you need, than get cracking! The paper wont do anything by itself! Not trying to be rude here.

I should have been more specific, I know how to treat the paper, I'm just not sure what to fold yetThe Average Folder wrote: PS: Jonybb, the obvious, fold! The colors are green, yellow and white. If you could give me some recommendations, that would be great !

Hmm, I didn't tell you this before, but what size of sheet are you thinking of making like I know I can only make 30-35 cm pieces because my glass is very small and tinfoil only a foot. Also, what kind of model would you like to fold, and how well can you fold ( be honest here, don't go too much or sell yourself short) because I'm wondering what complexity you can fold at. Sorry for the prying! Also, what books do you have (many good models are only in books) or e-books? Do you like tedious models, or fun to fold models. Do you have any other paper you want to use, or only finding stuff for the unryu? Just want to know what you would like the best, because I don't want to waste 30 minutes recommending the wrong models for you.

Re: What Paper have you bought/recieved lately?
I can make the sheets as large as i want them, and my aluminium-foil can be as large a i want, too. So any complexity is good, though I prefer more advanced projects. I consider myself to be a good folder ; I have folded many advanced models, such as Kamiya's phoenix from the CP and Kamiya's Ceberus from diagrams. The models can be tedious or fun to fold. I don't care too much, as long as the result is good.
I have not so many books, but I'm going to buy more as time goes. Currently, I have :
Works of Satoshi Kamaiya,
Origami for Interpreters,
Origami Essence,
Origami under the sea,
Origami Design Secrets
The Complete book of origami
If you have suggestions, the models don't have to be in my books, it can also be a CP on the net. I prefer folding from diagrams, but I'd like to improve my skills at solving crease patterns. So any recommendations on CP's are welcome.
The models dont have to be from the unryu. I actually have an almost unlimited supply of regular tissue paper... or maybe a couple of hundred sheets. I also have kraft, foil paper in roll and others.
So if you could give any recommendations based on this post, I would appreciate it.
