Hi to all of you guys,
I sent pdf diagram of my fox but unfortunately, because a too heavy
format photo i added, the file resulted of about 7 mega for only 2 A4 pages!!
Do you think this will be a problem to Anna?
I remade the file again, changed the photo reducing it to about 300 kb
Do you think i have to send it again?
Please s.o.s.
waiting for answers as soon as possible
Mario

I don't think it would be a problem to Anna, in the sense that she probably wouldn't have trouble with it, but it would most likely not be very nice for people with slow internet connections.Whitefly wrote:I sent pdf diagram of my fox but unfortunately, because a too heavy

Fortunately, I have a fast connection, but it would still be annoying to have a huge file if the filesize isn't necessary. If the photos can be resized and/or more heavily compressed, without losing important details, it would be preferable.
I know that Adobe Reader is quite a resource hog at the best of times, and having a large file open doesn't help, so having smaller images would also be good for people with slower computers, too.
It would probably be a good idea to send the new file(s), along with an explanation about them.
I don't suppose it would hurt much anyway, and I know I'd rather have a smaller file, as long as the image quality isn't compromised to the point where diagrams are unreadable, or images are not clear.
(I know that there are alternatives to Adobe Reader - Foxit being a good one - but having thumbnail previews is worth the extra bulk, especially since my computer's relatively fast)
I just submitted a Cp for my hummingbird:

Hello,
I just arrived back from vacations on the Seychelles. Like some of you guessed I had no Internet there. Since I'm up for 22 hours now I will get to sleep and answer all your mails and questions tomorrow.
As for filesize, I can resize images and pdfs, so there is no need to worry.
And to those who have forgotten while I was away, signatures shouldn't exceed three lines otherwise they get edited or removed.

@Noah: I doubt many people will fold it from CP. If you draw diagrams, then hopefully lot's of people will fold it!
But it's up to you.
But it's up to you.

I took pictures for photo diagrams of my model to submit alongside the CP, but I am not sure how to add comments for each step. What is a good way to do this?
Please, add me on flickr and tell me what you think!

@shortloldude: If you have Microsoft Word or Apple's Pages, it's easy to do it in there, you can resize the photos and everything. If you don't have such fancy programs, TextEdit can do it quite nicely on the Mac, and WordPad should be able to do the same on Windows. (Not entirely sure of WordPad, I'm running a Mac.) If you need an alternative, Open Office (or NeoOffice for the Mac) work well.
