Well, saj... If kaimon's right (which I certainly hope he is), than you shouldn't have to wait long for his book.

Yay! I'm really looking forward to it's release. I was gutted when we were told that Komatsu was unable to come to the BOS convention :(

Well, I just discovered why it's called Lion BWE ... BWE stands for "Based on Watanabe's Elephant".

Can someone tell me more about this? What level are the models? Are they clear enough for english speakers to follow?

I am going to Japan in June and plan to visit the origami museum near Kyoto. Any recommendations?

Great! Just when I find out about it, I find it out of print already. This is number 12 all over again! Anyone know where I could get a copy (even used) of either?

your only hope is to try and find someone who is willing to part with their copy.

i stated it when #16 came out, but these tanteidans without exception become origami collector items.

Finding somebody who would part with the Tantiedan 13th convention book... well this is gonna be fun  . I got number 14 right when I saw it was out of print and that oriami shop would be out of copies soon, then got 16 for christmas. Of course the best ones go out of print before I can get my hands on one :( .

I don't know if they still online but there used to be a torrent for these books, it's quite some time ago when I got them so it might have changed over time. Too bad they don't reprint these books, I bet they would sell a reasonable amount of them, I would buy them all if I had the chance but for now I have to do with the downloaded ones.

Origami Tanteidan Convention Book #13

Post by gordigami »

I can understand your frustration with inability to buy the Tanteidan Convention books. I have # 8 thru #16, and wish that I had more.
As you know, downloading from torrent sites and such is frowned upon and unfair to the extensive labour of the designers.
Of the limited options I might recommend searching ebay from time to time, joining an origami club to enhance potential for sharing, check with BOS library or OUSA lending library .
Finally check origami database for alternate sources of a particular diagram location, in that oftentimes they are published in more than one magazine or convention book .
After all is said and done, it is ultimately beneficial to simply order from origami-house, or origami-shop each year when they become available.
Good luck.
May I wish success to all who cope with the mountains & valleys of Life,
with all its peaks & depths, as well as Origami .
