Re: What have you folded lately?

I started working my way through Satoshi Kamiya's book about 6 months ago, starting with the easier stuff and gradually working towards harder models as I've become more comfortable folding complex things. The first time I saw Kamiya's Ancient Dragon a year ago I never imagined that I'd ever be able to fold anything even approaching that difficulty, but after almost a month of working on it I finally put on the finishing touches at 3 am last night! :D. Yeah, I'm a slow folder :P

Here are pics of some of the models I did - I'll add more when I get a chance.

Impressive dragon! It looks very majestic. You shaped the head especially well.

I just got around to editing the crease pattern for the angel I posted earlier. This one should be all right, but if it isn't, please let me know.

I also made a crease pattern for a female version. Its almost identical except instead of legs, the pleats make a gown.

Thanks!

My first attempt at the Cerberus by Kamiya Satoshi. I used 40cmx40cm tissue-foil for this, which is NOT big at all... The foil was kinda hard and not forgiving on the creases so it turned out a bit crumbled. Nonetheless, I'm happy with the result. :)
Yes, this is a model which might be suited to much thinner and larger sheets of paper, but it is looking pretty good! :)

Hey thanks! I also just realized that this is a bad picture because it seems like the Cerberus only has 2 heads. I didnt see that until most of my friends on fb said "I thought Cerberus was supposed to be a 3-headed dog.."

Great folds, I was wondering where you got the japanese foil paper you used to make the dragon.

i tried to make this angel. it is great, however i found the wings are coming out from the head. also, there is no neck - but this can be solved by really small change in the CP. what's more, the arms are really thick, but i don't see any way to change it.
i will post a photo of my test fold later.

edit: here is the photo. it was taken with a telephone, so it is bad quality.

Thanks! I actually got the large sheet of foil paper from Jason Ku (who posts here as origamimagiro) - I'll have to ask him where he got it from. I told him I was thinking of attempting the Ancient Dragon, but I was afraid to start because I didn't have any paper larger than about 18" square. He gave me this huge ~30" x 45" rectangle of Japanese Foil from his collection to test-fold it with. Next time I fold this, I may do what many others have suggested and try making a large sheet of double-tissue paper using MC.

Bandersnatch - those models are awesome! What kind/size paper did you use for the Loggerhead Turtle?
