What have you folded lately?

After I've folded the Troll by Mario Adrados Netto (from 13cm x 13cm Kami)...

...I decided that that model needed toes and fingers. Since hands and feet are coming from the corners of the square I added two grafts along the diagonals. That way I also got more paper in the middle of the paper and was able to form a much nicer face. The folding sequence is basically the same except for some extra steps at the beginning and at the end.
I'm very happy with this result especially with the face

Moreover I discovered that this model can be moved quite naturally...

Aznman, what does the bear look like from behind? I have an idea that it is supposed to be roundish and 3d but the unsinking in the diagrams scared me away from trying a nice big one like yours

Hmmm... Unsinking? I don't remember any unsinks...
Possibly you mean the closed sink in step 55.
Here is the bear from behind

I am not sure about your question though. My bear from behind (as you can see) is not really round. Infact, the front is sort of concave, except the head, which I rounded.

Hope that some how answers you question. I would encourage you to fold one out a big sheet. Mine was out of eleven inch.

You were right Aznman it was the closed sink in 55.
Thank you for that back view of the model.
I have a much better idea of how it looks now.

Edwin,
Has said I can post the diagrams of his Koala 3 ,the one on the convention CD so here it is. I do again recomend single colour stiffer paper for this model -it does not work well in an 80cm square like the one I used to teach it!
Hopefully it will not affect sales of the convention cd!
But will increase sales dramatically of Edwin's books.

One point I would like to make generally, many active members on the forum appear to be younger folders set on trying to recreate impossibly hard super complex models. For myself and many other folders and friends the challenge is in the beauty of the folding sequence and the ability to fold well, not in the number of triple sinks or multiples of 100 folding steps.
The pictures and diagrams for Edwin's dragon from a fishbase illustrate this perfectly- A not so simple model with a nice sequence that is open to interpretaion
A dragon is a fantasy figure , I do not care if it is not anatomically accurate.

The koala has an even nicer folding sequence, and like many other of Edwin's work does not use a base as such to start.

May ask for permission to post the diagrams for the Kangaroo anyone interested- Yes Anna it is the one from a triangle;-)

I was at a boring gig last month and there was nowhere to sit down, so I was just standing at the back watching this band and drinking a glass of orange juice. Someone handed me a flyer for some nightclub. I was just idly folding this flyer in my left hand and drinking from my other.

The next day I was thinking, ooh, I'm good at this.

So here's a video of my second attempt at folding a flapping bird one handed

YouÂ´re allowed to post every diagram you want, as long as you have the permission from the author.
IÂ´m the last person that would say no to new diagrams
