My Idea for an "Easy" SK Ryu Jin

Post by Lephantome92 »

I'm nowhere near good enough at crease patterns to do any of the "higher up" Ryu Jins, so this morning I had an idea to make 1.1 a little more interesting: graft scales onto it. Imma try making just the pleats first small scale (pun not intended), then try on a sheet a little better suited to the needed size for the thickness from the scales. Wish me luck!!

(I wasn't sure which topic this went in best, so I thought this one was best)

why wont it work? it seems like it should but you would need a really big paper to fit the scales on that tiny 1 unit of space showing on the body

The main thing that's a bugger is the scale orientation. They'd be intersecting at all sorts of whacked-up angles, and I'm not quite that good of a designer. Hrm, any suggestions?
