Satoshi Kamiya - Cerberus

Post by kaitie »

Hi guys. I hope this is okay and in the right place. I did a search but couldn't find anything that answered this question.

Anyway, I've been working on the Cerberus from the latest Tanteidan convention book, and I am completely stuck on step 75. It's been rather frustrating because it looks like a very straightforward, easy step, but for some reason I can't get it to work out so that it looks like the next step. I've tried three times now, and each time this is the step that gets me.

If anyone can explain it would be greatly appreciated. :)

Welcome to the forum.

No, it is not straightforward. It needs quite improvisation and making (more or less) together with next step. It is something like squash and I think it is not drawn correctly. I do not remember exactly what I did there, but I remember, that it was a little problem.
Or you can find another way than me...

Step 75 is simply mountain folding the collection of flaps underneath, This will be partially undone by the next step when you squash and spread the layers.

You know, I honestly wondered if it was a mistake in the picture, as well. It looked like a straight up mountain fold, the instructions call for a straight up mountain fold, but for some reason it didn't seem to fit. Then again, I could have done something wrong earlier on and missed it. Pretty certain I didn't, though. Thanks, guys!

Would you believe I'm stuck again? Actually...not that hard to believe. ;)

Anyway, I've literally done everything except the front feet. I just can't seem to get what it's asking for. I know that I'm supposed to use the current creases to fold the new ones, but I'm still confused. In case anyone is wondering, it's step 140 or so. It's rather disappointing because I'm making this for a friend and the rest of it looks incredibly cool.

I'm new to this site and have been folding for about 6 months. (not counting the index card frog, which would make it 8 years).

I'm stuck on step 44. i can spread the flaps in step 43, but i don't get the fold in 44. any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

It's something called an elias stretch I believe...

When you pull the flap you should have a creased grid. Mountain fold along the first horizontal line and also fold the diagonal line. Valley on the second horizontal line, and valley the next diagonal, and then mountain fold the last horizontal line.

I'll get pictures up if I can.

Thank you washi, I finally got past it! but what happens in step 55? I understand the rabbit ear and the valley folds, but in step 56 the pleated flaps are there and i can't get that. Again, Thanks, and i'll come here for future help.

Eatelephants: All you are doing is stretching the pleats and collapsing along the series of squares, nearly identical as step 35. If this is no help, I have a video of these steps. Not a tutorial but a clip I sped up to make a time lapse. (The footage is real time but could not be duplicated without diagrams because I folded roughly 45 steps in abut two minutes)
