OUSA 2011 table of contents
Here's the list for this years convention book: http://www.origami-usa.org/files/2011_oc_contents.pdf
Pretty nice models in there, but most of which are from 'the fold', so not too much for me to look forward to. Still, 2 of my models are in their!
I'm mostly looking forward to folding James Lucas' fork tailed flycatcher, Sebastian's Dragon and Ares' Kitten.

Re: OUSA 2011 table of contents
i have to say, i am disappointed to see so many diagrams from the fold in the convention book.
that said, sebasian's dragon looks to be worth the price of admission. there have been so few complex dragons published since kamiya put out the ancient dragon.
congrats on getting two diagrams, joshua!

Re: OUSA 2011 table of contents
I was pleased to see something of my own in such august company. While it would be far superior to minimize overlap in their publications, truth is there are only so many diagrams to go around. I am very good at diagramming (I don't mean to be arrogant saying this, but having done two books now and working on a third, I assume I'm doing something right) and it takes me forever. I doubt anyone else does it that much quicker than myself, except perhaps those with the artistic ability to draw diagrams freehand, like Paul Jackson.
That said, I have been very impressed with the quality of the OUSA convention book. For years it was suffused with models of questionable merit and diagrams of poor quality. It has gotten much better in recent years. Kudos to the editors.

Have to agree with bethnor. Did we really need to reprint Marc Kirschenbaum's dragon again?

I have to agree with this, that model was published long ago. Indeed, I'm surprised there are no copyright stipulations. I always thought that the weakest of his models, being his variation on the Neal dragon. I am quite proud of my own variation, but I'm just me.FrumiousBandersnatch wrote:Have to agree with bethnor. That said, it was only a few pages out of a couple hundred. And the OUSA Diagram book is not the Tanteidan, it does not and should not focus exclusively on complex models.
