Thanks anermak! for folding my model
Your folding is excelent, althought I take about an hour with a 45cm sheet of sandwich paper.
Ill try to take another models from this base, in fact, this model is a variation of the dragon i used for science vs fantasy project
OK, I have given up on this model. I can see none of the pictures, and I have had this model stored away for like 2 years. Any chance you could re-post these? That is if you are still on the forums.
The collapse of this model is relatively straight forward and easy. But shaping... The formation of the boat still alludes me.
Help or tips would be appreciated. Some photos of different views of the boat part would be a great help.
(P.S. I tracked down anermak's photos but I didn't find them to help with shaping, just collapsing. Good tutorial though)
Cranemaster366: Thanks to help of a Flickr folder I have figured it out! Some photos of the boat which allowed me to figure it out. If I obtain permission I can forward them to you.
Anywho: This my understanding of the maneuver: The boat is closed on both ends and the bottom. This is because one of the sides (labeled hull) gets unwrapped (creating color changes) and pulled all the way to the other side of the boat. Everything is tucked inside the pocket that is created. Thus creating a bottom and two sides of a fully closed boat. The back of the boat will not be a single sheet of paper; in fact, it will be the last layer of the box pleat. One sail is facing the wrong way so twist around until it faces the right way and voila! Hope this helps and I'll see if I can forward you some of those photos.

Here is my first try of the model, folded from a 70cm square of tissue foil.

I am the flickr folder who helped out Raptorex55. I finally made an account on the forum so I can post stuff here. I was wondering if you managed to work the model out. If you still need help with the model feel free to ask
Excellent fold
Could you help me in shaping the details. I folded the base but i was confused about shaping the hull. I think I should outside reverse fold it to shape it and give it a colour change. I made it using cp and a few steps for references but got stuck in the details. Please help!
Thanks!
Let me see...
To form the hull you do what you said. Turn the last layer of the hull inside out and wrap the layer around the bottom of the boat. This creates a colour change an makes a hull with no holes or anything like that in it. Both of the sails get outside reversed upwards so the are standing up straight. The back one is facing the wrong way so you must twist it around so it faces the front. Hope that helps. If you still need help just say so
Well, I don't suppose any of you are still watching this forum, seeing as I've been inactive for like 10 months, but I still haven't figured out this model. However, in the case that you are, I've moved and I have absolutely no idea where my old model is, so I have to wait until I find that or get over my laziness and make another -- and the latter probably won't happen. I'll go check out your Flickr and see if I can find anything, or if I even know what you're talking about. Thanks!
