It's not a video, but hopefully this will help you out. I apologize for the crinkly paper, tissue-foil is all I have at hand for the moment.

This is what your model should look like starting step 36.

This is the flap you need to fold up. Crease this thoroughly, this is THE crease that matters for the sink.

The whole point about the circled area on the diagram and step 38 is that the section here does NOT need to be sunk, it needs to be held closed. I'm holding the area in the first picture; the second two pictures show how it'll look like once the section is already sunk.

Once that's all sunk, your model should look like this.

Hopefully this helps you out. If you need bigger/better pictures, let me know, I'll see what I can do.

First, I'm going to shame you for not just going and buying the diagrams. :x

That being said, 7:40 is step 15, which is a very simple valley fold.

Next time you ask something like this, you'd better have a step number. Unless you can design something like this (in which case you should), support those who can!

I wouldn't know, I've always either used kami or made my own with tissue foil, methyl cellulose, or actually making my own paper. (Well... only once, and it wound up mostly a disaster, but I got a small usable piece from it.)

You're probably better off asking in the General Origami Talk directory. :)

Pop pop BUY THE BOOK those diagrams and vidios that you are spreading around are ILLIGAL and kamiya said he wouldent give permision for any of his models to be shared over things like youtube so the book is expensive but not hard to get so there is no reason why you shouldent be able to order it online.

Hi,

I have also gotten to step 26 which is the step where you pull out the hidden corner, but it seems no matter how I pull out the corner, the corner I pull out is missing a crease that is shown in the next reference diagram. I don't think anyone answered wantotlearn's question but I am attempting to make it more clear.

My corner looks like this

Code: Select all

|
|
|
|
the one in the diagram

Code: Select all

|
| /
| /
|/
Is this just an error in the book (Works of Satoshi Kamiya) or am I making a mistake somewhere? Also, if it is an error in the book, am I supposed to be making a new crease to pull the corner out into the position shown in the book?

Thanks

This is just an error in the book. Do not make a new crease in the approximate position it shows. In fact, if you look at step 28, you'll see the two creases are already on the paper; the ghost crease in 27 is gone. Once he flips the flap back up in 36, you can see that it is, in fact, not supposed to be there.

Hope this helps! :)
