I was not happy with the komatsu lion I created with the Roman Diaz guide. It didn't seem to hold it's shape and the head did not look right to me. So I set out to fold it by myself from the crease pattern. The result was surprisingly better IMHO ^_^. The model took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to collapse and another 30 minutes to shape. I am considering trying the type 1 head does anyone have a picture of the difference?

cool. If you like dinosaurs, you should really look at Fumiaki Kawahata's origami fantasy. That is my favorite origami book of all time.

Or Origami dinosaurus 1, 2, 3 or very similar book published in USA. All also of Kawahata Fumiaki. Origami fantasy should be too complex.

Folded from a 6 inch square of this crappy origami paper that turns white along even the softest of creases.

The hard parts of the CP are the head, and the internal folds (look at the center of the CP), which thankfully are hidden. Folded from a 9 inch square of white origami paper.
