Look! by Ogawa Tomo from a 15cm square of Japanese foil.

While the folding sequence is quite painful in parts the result is very rewarding.

I have been organizing all of my previous designs (and realizing that most of them are $bill folds :/), and now I have a small gallery set up on facebook and flickr. I just posted a link in my sig: there is a giraffe, a bunny, 84 squares (from 1 dollar), and a squirrel sitting on an acorn.

eileen taught a few of us during a recent meetup how to collapse the base from the CP which can be found in her blog. this rendition was folded from 32 x 32 cm thai silk paper :

Nice job with the cuckoo clock. Particularly with the deer head, and getting the weights to hang straight. That is truly a labor of patience.

I finally was able to fold the new Kawasaki rose:

Red copy paper. Copy paper has a tendency to tear on me when I'm trying to shape the petals:

Pink copy paper:

Tracing paper:

I've also tried Reynolds parchment paper but didn't fare very well. Anyone have any suggestions for paper to use on this model?

I might try tissue foil, but that's just me. It looks soft (unlike plain foil) and can hold a round shape for the petals.

The problem with Tissue foil is that is crumples quite easily...
Resized (backcoated) paper will probably work the best

Yes. When using tissue foil, always try your best to make precise folds, and t noy crumple it too much. It also depends on the thickness of the foil.

I'm pretty sure it's not a Pokemon, andf it is, some proportions must be off... It's a tongue hanging out right? The only one with a tongue that long is chubby, not skinny.

Jeez, I'll NEVER forget anything about Pokemon...

It's also not Drowzee, because it too is also short and chubby with short limbs... and its not Alakazam since it has a long mustache and spoons in it's hands.

I'm almost positive it's not a Pokemon.
