Just do it
PS: And share a photo here.

Re: "Wrapping" holiday gifts?
Alright, I did it with my present to my brother, it's a birthday present , that's why it isn't very christmasy. It's hardly origami, but it doesn't have anything but paper, and the present of course.[image][/image]
I finally got it to say something under my posts!

Re: "Wrapping" holiday gifts?
Here are two new packages. Both use the same wrapping technique, the differences are only due to the dimensions of both gifts. My copy of Practigami is inside the red one, it arrived to my house on December 24th so I decided to wrap it along with the other gifts .
This technique for wrapping gifts using origami is my personal variation of one technique that Sy Chen taught me. I must say I loved wrapping them like this, they look pretty good, and they're really well wrapped, and besides, the paper won't rip from unwrapping the gift .
The gift wrapped in red is showing the front and the brown one its back. That way you can get a better idea of the technique.
What do you think?

Christmas gift I "wrapped" using Crane Envelope by Minako Ishibashi. I really recommend this envelope: http://pajarita.org/diagramas/files/intern1-2.pdf
Folded from a 20 x 20 cm (8 x 8 in) square of tissue paper. I only chose black because I already had a sheet that was basically cut to the proper size. Still, I think it looks great.

Hello,
There's nothing I love more than getting creative, mix that with wrapping presents for people I love WITH the fact it's Christmas, I'm in my element. Scouring the isles of Hobbycraft it's pretty hard not to be inspired in different ways to make your gifts a little more “you”.

Sorry, for taking so long to reply. I hope it's not too late. There are tons of origami box and envelope models you can use lorel19. Aside from that, there's a very cool way to literally wrap a box without any tape, glue, cuts, taught in the book "Complete Origami" by Eric Kenneway.lorel19 wrote:Hey,

I'm in the party where I use a simple box to contain said present. Modular and single piece designs are found all over the internet. I've made strip boxes from old calendars, modular boxes from scrapbooking paper, and many other things.
If the container isn't Origami (not always practical) it still gets an Origami in lieu of a bow. A nice tato, or a star, or a nice modular piece.
