@What exactly is masking paper? And where do you get it?

In the USA, you can find it at Lowes. Search for "Trimaco 18" x 180' Brown Masking Paper". It is quite cheap a roll of 18"wide by 180' long cost $4.28.
I guess this paper is use to mask floor and other things during paint jobs since I found it in the paint area. They also have it in green (Robert Lang's Treehopper in my flickr uses the green paper)

Do you know bwhat weight this masking paper is? (gsm).

I have been trying to find some thin, kraft like paper here in the US, but mostly its about 80 gsm (Michaels), which is a bit too thick for some of the subjects I want to try.

Also had a go at the tree frog but it didnt turn out very well at all, looks like a wrinkly mess that's been in a fight and lost

Lang's Samurai Helmet Beetle for Insects and Their Kin.
Folded from an AWESOME paper called Red Hot Chitose. It has a really nice texture, as well as veins of dark red all throughout the paper. I highly recommend checking it out (it also comes in a dark blue and a medium green) at http://www.paperjade.com.



An awful photo of my butterfly wall in progress. I have cathedral ceilings, and at some point, this is going to climb the entire wall and bleed onto the ceiling...it's about a fifth of the way done.


A pair of Lang's Songbird 1 models. The paper was hand-tinted by me, using the Acrylic Paint/MC method.


A vase made from some parchment that I painted blue. I got the idea from something that was being folded in Between the Folds...I can't remember who exactly was folding it, but it's based on what they did.

Yes, I was at the CDO convention, and I actually missed the class that Mr. Satoshi Kamiya taught this model. But, I ask him if I can have the diagrams, and he gave me his copy. And thats the result you see here

I am going to try and fold again his rabbit as well. I had attend the class and I kept some notes and diagram some of the procedure, but not all of it, so I am gonna reverse fold the one I have from the class so to fold it from a better paper.

As far as I know, there are no diagrams published for either of these models.
