Plastgeek, there is also a secret code in Nicolas' first book.

Runmo, as far as I know, there is alot of information on each of the models in the book, including the estimated time to fold each model.

Speaking of that, Gerwin and I still haven't received anything for finding the Secret Code in Roman Diaz's book.

Is the Pteranodon by Lang the same one that is in ODS? - bit disappointing if so. That model illustrated a point in ODS (poin splitting) but is hardly one of Lang's best. If he had to submit an already published model what about his Maine Lobster, Shizuka Cicada or Dancing crane which have been published only in Tanteidan and a BOS booklet? I'm really hoping Lang will publish a book of diagrams soon (other than the twist and tesselations book)

Nonetheless you'll have my order the day its out. Damn Aussie dollar...

Pteranodon is a new unpublished model. Different from ODS and really more complex.

The diagram is full for the eagle, with all steps by steps to fold each details.
That's why the diagram is so long...

No this is Rock Eagle.

This is the first color page of the book showing 6 models, including Pteranodon by Lang and Prehistoric Bird by Diaz

Pteranodon by Lang :
8 pages / 94 steps / Complex / 2h to fold it
Unpublished model. As Robert can't find time to diagram it, I need to meet him in France then in Japan to learn how to fold the model, then to obtain the corrections of the diagrams.

Prehistoric Bird by Diaz
35 steps / 4 pages / High intermediate
Very nice model with an interesting folding sequence. The goal of Roman, with this project, was to create a bird with 2 equal beak parts. The body is in 3D.

Cat by Giang Dinh
12 steps / 3 pages / So simple but in same time supra complex !
What a stupid idea to try to diagram a model by Giang ! How can we catch his incredible artistic shape with a diagram ! But it's a nice challenge and Giang and me tried to solve it ! We decided to use a mixt of diagram and photo, with different view for each step.

Panda by Didier Piguel
134 stpes / 11 pages / Complex
An incredible complex panda, full 3D, and completely closed. With a magic lock at the end to close it.

Baby Dragon by Daniela Carboni
38 steps / 4 pages / intermediate
A so cute dragon. So nice that it won the Italian CDO contest 3 years ago and everybody wanted to fold it ! Seeing this dragon, I've decided to published this book, in order that so pretty models are never forgotten.

Acrocinus by Albertino
83 steps / 7 pages / Complex
(same comment than message at the top)
For his insect books collection, Albertino created 85 insects. He published 16 in the first tome. Probably the other tome will not be publish. That's a pity ! That's why I ask him to offer one of his best insect that he doesn't diagram it. An interesting way in the folding sequence to increase the legs and antennae. I like also the elegant and pleasant folding sequence, very different compare to the actual Brut Box pleating. Albertino worked also a lot to distribute cleverly the layers.
Probably one of the last Albertino's model that you can fold before a long long time....

I had a feeling that it was the redpath pteranodon! I'm glad because he taught it at OUSA 2007 and I didn't get a chance to learn it. The panda and the prehistoric bird look excellent as well!

Question about the cat "diagrams" - I have Giang Dinh's photo diagrams of the Dreaming Dog in Origami USA 2007 - ... and it is tantalizingly just outside of my skill level....

When you "diagrammed" the Cat, did you have compassion for those of us who are mortals and klutzes ?

When it comes to Giang's wet-folding, I feeling I am an inexperienced novice !

I may want the new book, just to learn that model :-)
