Nano thickness paper
Hehe, while studying i found this:
http://sineurop-nanotech.com/en/graphene.html
kinda interesting. Of course it's going to be used in science first of all, but maybe we'll see some nano foldings from this awesome graphene sheet. Wouldn't it be funny to see, lets say, an Ancient Dragon, folded from 1x1 mm sheet? : D

No it wouldn't be funny because we wouldn't be able to see it.

Why not?
Havent heard of AFM? Atomic force microscope? You can even count an atoms with these..

Honestly, no I hadn't heard of it. But how hard would it be to transport something that small--let alone fold it? You could ingest it without even knowing! Weeks of work just gone!

Re: Nano thickness paper
you could fold it with a needles under AFM, i think. There you can have a needles as thin as a few carbon atoms

Re: Nano thickness paper
So, now we just need a method of scaling down the folder's actions to a nano scale...

Re: Nano thickness paper
That's as simple as shrinking us down to that size.

Haha, so what are we waiting for! Let's get some microscopic origami out there!

Matt
If it's just mountain and valley folds, how hard could it be?

Re: Nano thickness paper
The chimera I'm working on designing is going to be almost microscopic with the paper my test-fold is from.

@Baltorigamist: COOL
@ this topic:
Cool Idea but if you a microscope and pins to fold You would ether see the paper or the pin not both. you might have just finished folding a complex origami that took you all day then you open your window and the slightest wind would blow it away. or when you are showing your friend he will not see any thing in your hand
.
if you are getting that paper and microscope and the pins it would cost more than just getting some foil paper and messing up like 10000 times and after each time you get a new paper
I don't even know if what I said makes any sense
