Kiss of Sakura - EDIT: Done! Thank you for your help!
*EDIT2: The links weren't working, so I uploaded the diagrams to Photobucket... Hope this works.*
I'm new to the forums... so please go easy on me if I've posted this in the wrong place!
I've found a GORGEOUS flower origami to use as centerpieces and ornaments for my wedding reception dinner... However the diagram for it has me stumped.
I've been doing origami for a few years now, on and off... but I still consider myself a beginner... Can anyone help me along with this diagram?
I'm stuck between 6 and 7 on the first page... My fiancé has had a few tries with it and he's stumped as well...
This is the diagram:
page 1: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15/Au ... 1259098606
page 2: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15/Au ... 1259098607
And here are some larger images of the finished origami by Tigreshenka:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15/Au ... 1259098897
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15/Au ... 1259098935
I think what I might need is a video or at least a better explanation of how to make this modular origami. The creator's blog is in a language I can't read (I think it might be dutch) so any possible explanations on diagrams are lost to me.
I'm up for a video chat on MSN if anyone can help me on there; my msn is cute_ally2001@hotmail.com
Or if you can help me through the forum that would be great too!
THANK YOU! to anyone who lends a hand. You'll be helping to make my wedding day beautiful and affordable! (I'm trying to make all of the decorations myself to keep costs low).

Hello and welcome on board.
Your diagram links aren't working. Can you please direct us from the main page where to go to find the steps that are giving you troubles?
http://pics.livejournal.com/tigreshenka
Furthermore I would ask you not to use strange colours and not to write everything bold. The use of colours can lead that some of our members who use other Forum styles can't read your post at all and writing everything bold is just annoying.
Good luck with your wedding decorations.

I'm very confused!
The links are working for me... I don't know how else to post them... They're linked directly to the images themselves.
And as for the bold, I had made it so that only some of the words were bold... not the whole post. But for me it's showing up as all normal text.. nothing is bold.
It seems that all of my formating is out of order...
I found the diagrams here: http://alena-light.deviantart.com/art/K ... -144610355
The links to the diagram pages are just below the image, in the Artist's Comments.

Maybe you can save the diagrams and upload them for us?

Right now I'm stuck at 6 on page 1... But to be honest once I get past that part I might need help with the rest. It seems to get fairly complex (for my level of knowledge anyway) after this.Ragnorax wrote:Ok i folded a couple of the units. Here's a shot of where I'm at: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15/Au ... 1259100429
(there are extra creases in the paper due to several different attempts at understanding the next step! haha

I... have no idea what that meant... But thank you for the reply! Like I said, I'm a beginner, and mostly self taught. I don't know the names of folds... I just follow diagrams and do my best to try and get them right.origami_8 wrote:Step 6 is a squash fold of the big flap on the right. Step 7 is a valleyfold. In step 8 you make a swivel by pressing the paper from the right side to the left.
If you still have problems I could make a video as well.
I'm right up there with the little girl at the origami store trying to figure out which beginer kit she should buy.. haha.
A video would be very helpful, but don't go through too much trouble just for me.

Here we go:

By the way, I'm pretty sure the blog is in Russian.

Oh my goodness! Thanks again!
Your tutorial video was great! Nice and slow, very clear... I was able to follow it step by step without having to pause or anything. A little bit of practice and I'll be able to make bunches of these without any second thought! Huzzah!
Now all I need to do is figure out how to assemble all of the parts and then I can start making the modular origamis with my colored papers for the wedding. I'm so excited! Thank you so much 'origami_8' (Tanya?).
And thank you to Ragnorax for offering to help as well. I have the feeling that he/she might still be taking photos for me... Please know that I'm grateful!
