how to present origami at conventions or exhibitions?

Post by akugami »

i hope, this topic wasn`t discussed in a thread that has been written earlier n this forum. if it was, dear moderation team, please feel free, to delete or move my words.

i joined the freising convention last weekend and thought long about a way to present the few models i've found being worth to be shown in public. i did not want to place them just on the exhibition tables.
so some time ago i made some wooden frames with a cardboard-filling. the first models - my fuse-masks - were fixed onto the cardboard with a cord. with doing that i made the frames useless for other origami-pieces, because of the fillings being not changeable.
if you want to show a model just for a fixed time but want the frame staying useable for other things, too, you have to fasten the model temporarily ...
so did i finally with some little but strong magnets. this way allows a for instance also movements of the model without any damages - neither at model nor the support.
that's probably nothing very special to you but i thought it a good idea to share.
how do you usually present your models in a convention display or a larger exhibition?

That depends on the type of model. for instance this is how I displayed some tessellations some years ago:
