Robert Lang - Rubythroated Hummingbird

Post by Hwdphg »

Would anyone be kind enough to help me on Step 40 of the RubyThroatedHummingbird from R.J.Lang's book, Origami Design secrets? I cannot seem to get the lower part of the body to connect to the upper part. Thank you.

Don't feel bad, a lot of people are confused by that part. The lower portion just kind of sits inside the head, without actually physically connecting in any real way. The small pleat that is shown in step 40 helps with this, but if need be you can use some Nori paste, glue, or methylcellulose to hold it in place. Also, using tissue foil helps with this, as it holds it's shape on it's own.

Thanks for the advice. Ive kinda adjusted step 7 and 40 a little so that it would hold together. (:
