Robert J. Lang - Tarantula (Insects II)

Post by esato »

I tried to fold Robert Lang's Tarantula.

Everything went fine upt to step 57 when what I got was different from the following picture. So I figured I must have done something wrong. I suspect I may have gone wrong doing the open sink at step 36.

I´ve taken some pictures of the open sink. If any of you would be so kind as to check if there´s something wrong, I would apreciate it :D

Step 38:

57 is a long way off from step 36 on this model, the sink looks fine, it may be further on in the sequence that something was overlooked. If you can't find it try the model again, because the instructions are pretty straight forward with little guess work. Just triple check as you progress through the steps.

Actually, this is not my first try !!! I´ve actually memorized all steps up to step 57...

I think the problem might lie at 36 because there´s another open-sink at step 35 and the open-sink that must be done at step 36 is done over the previous open-sink.

At step 57, when I "fold one layer to the right" I get something completely different from step 58. However, apparently up to that step everything looks the same as the pictures.

This is what I have at step 53.

Later, at step 57, if "Fold one layer to the right" this is what I get:

I can't fold one layer to the right, as that layer is stuck...

I found out what I was doing wrong. I folded a closed sink instead of an open sink at step 36.

This a reply that's way out date, but just in case it helps, the problem is when you make the sink at step 35 you need to open sink the hole flap that paper is trapped because you closed sink the very point, to solve this simply go to the view on step 53 and grab the nearest layer from the sides on the top and gently pull the paper out to the sides to release it, you know what I mean after that everything fits.
Whatever
