Help me! I'm stuck at step 15 of the Samurai Helmet Beetle by Robert J Lang(Origami Insects 2).
In the book it says "crimp on the existing creases, denting an edge upward in the model" ok but in the middle of the paper where you have to dent an edge if i do so i'm not in the configuration of step 16
the layers in the middle are "stuck"...
someone can tell me what configuration i must have in the inside of the paper to continue on with thanks....
aarrrgghhh!!!
I've tried but again i have a problem inside!
i have a sort of "V" and when i arrive step17 and do the spread sink the layers of the top of the model are stuck
it's frustrating because i'm sure that this step it's not difficult but after many tries i don't understand it!!
layers have to be pleated in the middle??
when it's says"denting an edge in the middle" it's like a kind of sink???
It's been long time ago since this question was written but I'll answer it 'cause I've folded the Lang's Samurai Helmet beetle recently. This answer may be helpful for the other forum readers.
So in step 15 you have to open-sink upwards the little pyramid inside the model. The pyramid is made of a little rhomb which is seen in the middle of the crease pattern. Unfortunately the author did not instruct to fold creases for this except in the CP. This confirms that sometimes it's helpful to make all the creases shown on the CP beforehand. It's particularly helpful when folding from foil paper.
