Post by thedeadsmellbad »

This person made 1000 cranes with one sheet of paper.
No cuts, no glue, just alot of free time. :)

1000 Cranes 1 Paper

This site has many hidden talents, enjoy.
I didn't see anything about this when I tried the search here & thought it was worth sharing.

 That is amazing! Has anyone on the board folded 1000 cranes before?

that must have taken forever, wow 1000, it is great, but almost cheating to like use a huge roll, i meani would like to see the magician who makes this out of 1 mega huge square sheet, i guess it would end up being folded into a rectangle anyway, but where is the purity? BUT!!! NOT to belittle this in ANY way man, that was just mind boggling

He says no glue or cutting, but I thought the only way to make 1000 cranes is to make lots of slits in the paper, is that not classed as cutting. It is however a brilliant piece, if it doesn't have the slits, how do you fold it?

there's no need to make slits. I tried out, and folded these cranes out of a 1x8 paper. but the cranes have a shared wing.

Did someone count to make sure there are really 1000 cranes? JK!
This work is really great!
Someday I may reach the mark of 1000 folded cranes, individual ones! When/If that happen, I´m sure I will not know!

Actually, my thousand cranes was the first origami prodject I did. You might say it was my gateway drug.

I sent mine to the peace park in Hiroshima to hang on Sadako's statue. I hope they were hung and looked good, but I guess I'll never know.

That has to be one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in my entire life. I'm not sure if it inspires me to fold more. or to quit, because i will never be able to do that! (JK, I could never quit folding!)
