Egg?

Post by Android raptor »

A few months back, I created an origami egg! It's just a simple variation on the waterbomb, so I'm wondering if anyone else has discovered it. Right now, I'm working on an Easter basket filled with them. I'll try to post pics when I can.

From what I see (unfortunately I can't be sure since the pics are blurry...) this might be similar to something I came about while doodling.
If I'm correct it's a waterbomb but in the step where you fold the sides to the center you didn't fold them parallel to the center line (if it's clear what I mean...), right?
It's a nice idea to use them as Easter eggs, that thought never came to me :)
So long and keep folding ^_^

This looks like John Nordquist's Easter Egg from Randlett's Best of Origami, a severely out-of-print book.

This is one of the first folds I ever learned and I remember it fondly. Later on, I learned the waterbomb and wondered, which came first, the waterbomb or the egg?

Congratulations on re-creating it.

It isn't origami till you share it.

Oh, yes, the pics are blurry because my sister's camera is crap. And the thought did come to me that someone had discovered the egg before, since it is so simple.
