Given that private lessons are not very common in origami, how much I should charge for them?

I guess it depends on what is a typical hourly wage in your area. Maybe you can have a look around what people charge for music lessons or private lessons for school and orient yourself on that.

Whatever the market will bear. The one time I was asked to do a big party I quoted my consulting rate and got it. I don't come cheap.

For classes, mostly in conventions, the lecturer charges the lecturees the fee that contains printing for diagrams and diagram/ papers to fold/ and extra. The extra fee exsists for the aniticipation on low participation. If you the lecturer bought the papers and printed the diagrams earlier before they were informed(which is the most cases because the lecturees apply for the class at the spot, on the day of the class, if they prpared too much they would lose money eventually(if the only charge for the fee for papers and diagrams). So theyanticipate the minimum amount of people participating and then charge extra in case for that case.

Here in my country Chile, I have see one course extremely expensive, at least for me.

One class 3 hours 54 US dollars. The class was for a maximum of 12 people.

The price was expensive, so I think the class never happened. No famous guy or designer.

If you pretend to do more classes in future the price should be cheap. So the guy could get another one and learn how to teach. I would pay between 5 dollar to 10 dollar per hour. I think it should be ok 10 dollar per hour because of my income is enough to pay that price and I think it is fair. But think in the prices of your country and if the person have enough to money to pay, if she or he is a young student you should put a price more attractive like 5 dollar the hour.

The prices could be expensive or cheap depending of the income in your country. So think in others courses.

if i had a lot of young student (they have no money, maybe 20 students) I would put a price of 10 dollars at month four or five classes.Image
