Forms and bases

Post by lunarious »

Hello! I'm new. I used to borrow books from the library about Origami, i learned much long before this forum, and still now, Origami is rare in my country Norway. Courses.

I want to learn:
1. How to fold repeatedly many layers in one piece, like magic ball
2. And an overviev first about the bases and repeated pattern (like bird base, and diamond base). It is not a model, but they are related and deserve an own thread, no?

I hope you can help me, Mustafa

Peace

It sounds like you're interested in tessellations, corrugations, and tiling, in which case I would recommend Internet searches for related terms (e.g. "Origami corrugations"). If you're looking for something more advanced, look into the books Origami Tessellations: Awe-Inspiring Geometric Designs by Eric Gjerde and Origami Design Secrets, 2nd Edition by Robert Lang. The latter can be expensive (I don't know your budget), but Eric's book is a great intro to tessellations, which lead into corrugations and related branches of origami.

I moved the topic to General, by the way.
After the fall, we rise.
