What's the name of this twist fold

Post by Brimstone »

Most of us are familiar with the square twist found in several model most notably Kawasaky's Rose. But there is another square twist that is not as common in which the twist gets hidden beneath a layer of paper as illustrated in the picture. Does anyone know if there's a name for such a twist?

I don't believe there's a specific name for it. I would just call it a half-sunken square twist.

I'm pretty sure that that type of twist can be tessellated into a brick tessellation.
