Help in tree theory by Robert Lang
Can someone please teach how to design a new model?

Now that's a big request which can't be easily fulfilled...
But still I can give you some suggestions: (in no particular order, just how they came to my mind)
1. Fold, fold, fold and unfold completely. Understanding the basic structure of models (i.e. the CP) is very important for designing your own models.
2. Grab a copy of Origami Design Secrets by Robert J. Lang and work it through thoroughly.
3. Get TreeMaker, work through the tutorials and play around with it.
4. There's also a very interesting article by Wolf about box pleated designs here: viewtopic.php?p=10045#10045
5. "Steal" from others, i.e. while folding a model and you suddenly have the feeling that what you have now might become something completely different than the intended model, stop following the diagrams and try to create your idea.
6. Two more threads that might be interesting to you:
