Obtaining permission for commerical use

Hi everyone,

I am an origami artist from Toronto. I got a request for a paid origami demo event. Now, I am pretty rusty with designing my own models, so I thought I would approach one of the more well known origami artists and get their permission to use their models and offer them 15% of the profit as compensation.

The specific model I looked at was Rat and pig by Jo Nakashima. And rat by Steven Casey
I messaged the former on instagram, and the latter on flickr, but I didnt get a reply so far.

I would need help if anyone know how else I can get into contact with them? Or, are there more artist that is easier to reach, who has a good rat and pig model?

Thank you in advance!!

I have Jo's email address. I can't guarantee he'll read or answer it, but we can try. If you're interested, send me a message to xxxx with the message you want me to send to Jo on your behalf. OK?

You could also wait and see if someone from the forum has a pig and/or rat model and would like to do business with you.

One more option is to look for pig and rat models in:

Origami Database: https://oriwiki.com/

Gilad's Origami Database: https://www.giladorigami.com/origami-database.html

You could then try to contact the respective creators.

EDIT: I removed my email address since suntailhawk has sent me the message.

Email send. Thank you. Hopefully he replies.
I dont have access to too many designs for mouse/rat and pig. Most of which are Japanese designs. I was hoping the English speaking side of the world would be easier to contact.

My pleasure. By the way, Sara Adams is very likely to have Steven Casey's email address since she's made at least one instructional video of a model of his. You can ask her to send him your request.

You can use her contact page for that: https://www.happyfolding.com/contact

She was actually the one who helped me contact Jo before I had his email address :).
