Wrapping Paper

Post by giro »

I try to fold with wrapping paper, but is really different to tissue foil(tissue+aluminium+tissue).

The wrapping paper dont hold crease, and finish figure don't hold.
All layers slips.

People treats wrapping paper with Metilcelulose, or other additive, to make this more strong.
Or is a problem that i need to find a best wrapping paper.

All ideas are welcomed.

There's many different types of wrapping paper. A lot of the shiny ones aren't made from paper and foil, but rather from mirrorized mylar. Like a lot of plastics, this type of mylar wrap doesn't fold well; it doesn't crease nicely, and is very smooth, which means it slips a lot.

You could try sticking a sheet of tissue or foil onto the back of this type of wrapping paper to make it hold a crease better. Or you could continue looking around and testing different types/brands of wrapping paper. Christmas is fast approaching, so you should see more variety in the stores shortly... :D
