The first part is from Kawasaki's rose leaves. The middle part I thought up, but was probably already a thing. The last part is the traditional crane.

Before folding the cranes, it's just four squares attached at a point (at the limit). So really, any model that can be folded leaving one corner free can be folded. Including the base pattern itself :-)

Which means, in theory, as many connected squares as you want... which can be folded into cranes or whatever.

So I was going to see if anyone had ideas for other models that can be folded with a corner pinned. I'm pretty sure the lily would work.

Here's a video of me showing a (pretty terrible) version with no cranes folded yet.
