From crease pattern to diagram

I have successecful in folding many models from crease patterns in my life.And I have been trying to draw diagrams from these CPs but I've received no success,I can't figure out where to begin the diagram.
Does anyone have ideas of how to draw diagram form CPs?

If you want to draw diagrams you first need to think of a sequence how to fold the model. Usually with CPs you first precrease to a certain point, then collapse into a base and finally complete with shaping. A diagram shows exactly this process. The usual starting point is a blank square that gets decorated with some folding lines and arrows. There are several really good videos out there how to make diagrams with Inkscape. For example:
