Paper for Complex Models

Post by Mist »

Where can I get extremely large, thin, and strong paper? I've been using 48 in. Kraft Paper and made the Ancient Dragon (Satoshi Kamiya) successfully but I'm not sure where to get better paper (tissue foil or double tissue) of the same size.

im not sure why you need paper larger than what origami shop has. 60x60 cm in my opinion should be big enought for all models except massive tessilations. i folded shuki katos gigantosaurus from 21x21 cm kami (apart from the head, i was surprised how easy it was) because at the time i didnt have acsess to bigger paper.

most are stores will have single tussue and if you get in contact with the manager i bet they could find a way to get you paper of any size (i used this to get 50x50 cm paper for caduces, probably the most complex model i have ever folded. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_Ps3G_J7XA). apart from that (like if you want proper origami paper) i can only think of making it yourself.
