Putting unit origami parts together

Hi all,

I'm working through Tomoko Fuse's great book "Unit Origami".

Does anyone have any advice for how to make sure individual parts are going together correctly to make the whole model?

I am trying to put together the 12 part Little Turtle model and can't seem to get the triangles (three little turtles) in the right place.
