Origami 4 x 4 Checkerboard pattern

There are several variations of the 4 x 4 origami checkerboard pattern. For example Jerimy Shafer has one, Max Hulmle and also Hadi Tahir that I am aware of. Does anyone know what variation of the 4 x 4 origami checkerboard is the best? Also, can anyone help me find the NOA origami magazine issue no# 162?

What do you mean by "the best"? Easiest to fold? Greater ratio initial square size / folded board size? Most full board cells squares (as opposed to 2-triangle-cells squares)? ...?
